How Numerology Compatibility Is Checked

The calculation compares the core numbers of two people. From each date of birth it derives the Moolank, the root number taken from the day of the month, and the Bhagyank, the destiny number taken from the full date.

Those four numbers are then compared across four pairings: Moolank with Moolank, Bhagyank with Bhagyank, and each person Moolank against the other Bhagyank. Each pairing is reported as the same number, friendly, neutral or unfriendly, based on the conventional planetary groupings numerology uses.

The score shown is simply a summary of those four results. It is a convenience for reading the table quickly, not a verdict, and the individual pairings are more informative than the total.

What Friendly, Neutral and Unfriendly Mean

Each number from 1 to 9 is governed by a planet, and numbers relate the way those planets traditionally do — as friends, neutrals or rivals.

Friendly or the same indicates natural ease between two people on that particular dimension. Things are understood without much explanation.

Neutral indicates neither ease nor friction. This is common, unremarkable, and not a problem.

Unfriendly indicates a genuine difference in how two people are built. It does not indicate that a relationship will fail. What it usually points at is a recurring difference in approach — pace, communication style, how conflict is handled — that both people benefit from understanding rather than arguing about.

Reading a Mixed Result Properly

Most pairs produce a mixed result, and that is worth knowing before you read yours.

A mixed result means the two people are alike in some respects and different in others, which describes almost every functional relationship. Two people identical on every number would find each other easy and, frequently, unchallenging. Two people conflicting on every number would find each other difficult in every direction, which is genuinely uncommon.

The useful reading is therefore not the score but the pattern: where the ease is and where the friction is. A pair harmonious on Bhagyank but conflicting on Moolank tend to want the same things while going about them very differently — a recognisable and entirely workable situation once both people see it.

What This Does Not Do

This is important enough to state plainly rather than in a footnote.

This is not Kundli matching. It does not calculate Ashtakoota gunas, examine the seventh house, check for Manglik dosha, or look at the Navamsa. Those come from birth charts and require birth time and place, and they carry considerably more weight in a Vedic marriage assessment than a numerology comparison does.

It also cannot tell you whether to marry someone, whether a relationship will last, or whether a business partnership will succeed. Numbers describe tendency. Character, values, circumstances, effort and timing decide outcomes, and none of those appear in a date of birth.

If you are seriously evaluating a match, treat this as a light additional input alongside a proper compatibility assessment — not as the basis for a decision.

Using It for Business Partnerships

The same comparison applies to a working relationship, and it is arguably more useful there than in a romantic context, because business partnerships fail on exactly the differences numbers describe: pace, risk appetite, how decisions get made, tolerance for detail.

Where the numbers show friction, the practical response is structural rather than emotional — clear written agreements, defined decision rights, separated areas of responsibility, and an agreed exit arrangement. Those are sound practice for any partnership and matter more where differences are indicated.

If the Result Looks Poor

Do not act on it, and be wary of anyone who suggests you should.

A low numerology score has ended engagements, and that is a misuse of a light tool. Long, happy marriages exist across every combination of numbers, including the ones a calculator would flag. If you are already in a relationship that works, a poor score describes differences you have presumably already noticed and accommodated.

The reasonable use of an unfavourable result is understanding, not decision-making: knowing where two people naturally differ makes those differences easier to accommodate and considerably less likely to be taken personally.

Honest Limits

Numerology compatibility is a light framework working from two dates. It is quick, free and occasionally clarifying. It is not a substitute for Kundli matching, for knowing someone properly, or for the ordinary judgement people bring to their own relationships — and any practitioner presenting it as more than that is overselling it.
