Tagline Numerology
A tagline sits under a name, so the useful question is not what it scores alone but how the two work together.
Business & Tagline
Why Check a Tagline at All
Because it appears everywhere the name does — on signage, packaging, the website, invoices and advertising. In practice it is read almost as often as the name itself.
The useful question is not what a tagline scores in isolation but how it sits with the name above it, which is why this tool asks for both.
Which Numbers Suit Which Business
5 (Mercury) is traditionally the strongest for commerce, trade and retail — the number of exchange. 3 (Jupiter) suits media, education and consumer brands. 6 (Venus) suits hospitality, wellness, beauty and anything to do with the home.
1 suits a brand claiming a category. 4 suits engineering, construction and anything where trust is the product. 8 (Saturn) builds slowly and durably. 9 suits a wide or humanitarian remit.
7 is worth a note: excellent for research, specialist and advisory work, and weaker for mass-market retail. It is an inward number, and retail is an outward business.
The Cheapest Thing to Change
If the name and the tagline do not sit well together, change the tagline.
A registered business name means paperwork, bank records, GST, signage, licences and every document already issued. A tagline usually means a design file and, if you catch it early, nothing else.
This is the same principle as changing a signature rather than a legal name: apply the correction where it is cheap, not where it is expensive.
What This Should Not Override
A tagline has one job: to say something true and memorable about the business.
A numerologically perfect tagline that is vague, awkward or forgettable is worse than an ordinary-scoring one that people remember and repeat. If a suggested change makes the line worse to read, the change is not worth making.
Use the number to choose between two lines you already like. Do not write the line around the number.
Consistency Across the Tools
This page uses Chaldean values, as every other name tool on this site does — the business name, the name number and the signature check.
Pythagorean numerology assigns letters differently and gives different totals. Neither is more correct, and mixing them is where contradictory readings come from. If you have been given a different number for the same name elsewhere, that is the most likely reason.
Numbers are a starting point
A single number is a clue, not the whole story. A full numerology reading weighs your Moolank, Bhagyank, name numbers and current period together.
