The Same Logic, Industrial Scale
Nothing new is introduced for a factory. The directional principles are the ones that govern a home, applied to what an industrial building actually contains.
Heavy machinery and raw material belong in the south-west and the southern and western half, because weight belongs in the heaviest quadrant and raw stock is material that sits.
Finished goods belong in the north-west, the zone associated with movement — goods that are meant to leave.
A furnace, boiler or heat source goes in the south-east, exactly as a kitchen does in a home. Water storage goes in the north-east, exactly as an underground tank does. Administration goes in the north or east, the zones associated with clarity and with dealings.
Waste and scrap is kept out of the north-east above all, since that is the zone that should stay cleanest.
What Moves and What Does Not
This distinction matters more in an industrial building than in a home, because the cost of moving things is far higher.
Usually reorganisable within an existing shed: storage allocation, office location, waste handling, finished goods staging. These are worth acting on, and they are often just a matter of deciding to.
Usually not: a furnace, a transformer, foundations for heavy plant, the building's own orientation. Relocating any of those is a capital decision that should be weighed on operational grounds first, with Vastu as one input rather than the reason.
What This Check Cannot See
Safety clearances. Fire regulations. Material flow and process sequence. Crane paths. Statutory approvals. Effluent handling. All of these govern an industrial layout, all of them come first, and none of them appears in a directional assessment.
Where a Vastu preference conflicts with a safety requirement or a licensing condition, the requirement wins. That is not a compromise of the tradition. A building that cannot legally operate serves nobody, and no responsible consultant would suggest otherwise.
Reading the Score
A middling result is normal. Industrial sheds are built around plot shape, road access, crane spans and column grids — not around directions.
Take the findings that involve things you can move, act on those, and treat the rest as information rather than as a problem. That is the same advice as for a home, and it applies with more force here because the cost of the alternative is so much higher.
Where a Site Visit Adds Something
For a factory more than for a home. A consultant standing in the building sees the material flow, the bottlenecks, where people actually work, and how the space is used through a shift — none of which a form can capture.
